According to a new study by JupiterResearch, European online dating sites are attracting new users and will double revenues from Eur243 million in 2006 to Eur549 million in 2011. Jupiter also reported that European consumer usage of online dating sites has shown consistent growth since 2003. The percentage of European users who reported using online dating sites has grown from 4% in 2005 to 6% in 2006. In the US, the online dating scene is something like a club that traded its trendiness for the steady business of a regular crowd. "Over the last several years we've seen a steady drop in the percentage of US online users who report browsing online dating sites," said Nate Elliott, a senior analyst at JupiterResearch and the lead author of the report.
